First edition, first impression. 74pp. In attractive red and black marbled paper boards with paper title label on spine. 12mo. Boards are a little dull, rounded on corners, a little rubbed at pushed at spine ends, spine dark and title label almost entirely chipped away. Text block edges a little toned, slightly affecting page margins and endpapers. Previous owner's name inked on front free endpaper, dated 1927. Some faint and occasional spotting.
The first of Vita Sackville-West's books to be published by the Hogarth Press, this short novella is dedicated to her lover, Virginia Woolf. One of 1500 copies printed.
