The Pictorial History of the War was originally issued in weekly parts; this volume, part of a 26 volume series, contains the weekly issues covering the period 7th August to 1st October 1940. viii, 256pp. Copiously illustrated throughout, with 392 black and white reproductions, 19 special drawings and 8 specially drawn maps. Half bound in maroon morocco leather over maroon cloth boards with gilt lettering and decoration to spine. Title page printed in red and black. (Boards are lightly worn, some small indentations along upper edge with minor loss at base of spine, rubbed at edges, more markedly so around spine with some light scuffing, and lightly marked). Pages show signs of having been overly compressed in the past, staining on rear endpapers. 4to.
